What are the compliance requirements for activities involving select agent and toxins?
Complete information is available via the federal regulations governing select agents and toxins (42 CFR 73 and 7 CFR 331 & 9 CFR 121). Additional information is available via the National Select Agent Registry website. Please note that the investigator and the institution face severe penalties for non-compliance, including civil and criminal charges.
Responsibility, management, and daily oversight of OSU's Select Agent Program vests with the University's Responsibile Official (RO), the Vice President for Research, and Biosafety Office personnel.
